Development of Support Kit to Provide Quality Workplacements for HSC Students in Government Departments

The NSW Board of Vocational Education and Training initiated this project to develop a Support kit to ensure quality work placements for HSC students in government departments.

The project was completed in 2007 with the development of a Support kit providing a resource folder for government departments to ensure quality work placement experiences for HSC students and promote careers and employment in the public sector. A key feature of the Support kit is A Supervisor’s Road Map for Work Placement. By combining this Road Map with activities suggested by staff, supervisors in government agencies can provide quality work placements with greater ease. Experienced supervisors can also create their own customised Road Map by using the templates provided in the Support kit.
