Aboriginal Programs
The Department’s programs for Aboriginal people reflect
the aims of the NSW VET strategy for Indigenous People, and
the national VET strategy for Indigenous people. The NSW strategy
framework is expressed in New Partners, New Learning, New
South Wales: State VET Plan 2001-2005, Vocational Education
and Training for Indigenous Communities in NSW.
Programs focusing on the vocational education and training
needs of Aboriginal people include the VET Infrastructure
for Indigenous People program, which provides capital funding
for facilities to assist in making VET more accessible to
Indigenous people. Other programs for Indigenous people include
the New Careers for Aboriginal People program, the Aboriginal
Registered Providers Program and the Aboriginal Enterprise
Development Officer Program.
